Online Poker Cheating Scandal Echoes

Senator concerned over scandal
The uncovering of two online cheating scandals at Absolute Poker and UltimateBet has not gone unnoticed by former US Senator Alphonse D'Amato. The New York politician who is the current chairman of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has brought the incidents to the attention of the US Senate in an effort to legislate against this new breed of Internet crime. Both poker sites resided in the jurisdiction of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission which initially did not permit inspection of these sites in order to present a clean bill of health.

UltimateBet and Absolute Poker Join Forces on CEREUS Network

Players on AbsolutePoker.com and UltimateBet.com will soon notice the tables are little busier. The two online poker sites announced Thursday plans to merge the two independent rooms to form the CEREUS network.

The newly-formed network will combine the players from both sites onto one platform. The move is meant to offer increased liquidity to current players and integrate features from each site onto one platform. Players will still play at their favorite sites as they have no plans to combine into one singular brand.

Absolute Poker offers instant deal option

There's a new final-table option at Absolute Poker that is going to make life much easier for players looking to cut a deal.

Absolute Poker has added a Deal Making button that will appear in certain online poker games once they have reached a final table.

"We're making it easier for players to facilitate deals so that everyone can walk away from a big tournament with a healthy win," said David Clainer, Absolute Poker senior vice president.

Once the Deal Making button appears, players will be prompted to click Yes or No. Once everyone left at the final table has clicked Yes, the game will pause and an administrator will join the chat to monitor the players as they discuss a deal.

Absolute Poker Introduces Instant Deal Making at Final Tables

Online poker site enables instant deal making through software enhancement.

Miami, FL  -- Absolute Poker has announced a new final table feature that promises to expedite the deal making process at select online poker games.

"We're making it easier for players to facilitate deals so that everyone can walk away from a big tournament with a healthy win," stated David Clainer, Senior Vice President for Absolute Poker.

Another scandal rocks online poker

The Absolute Poker scandal mostly flew under the mainstream media's radar last year, but as the old saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Maybe George W. Bush can't get that cliche correct, but if he played online poker he would definitely understand it's meaning right around now.

The news is now official as UltimateBet has admitted that it has suffered its own cheating scandal.

And this time, the mainstream press is noticing. Canada's National Post newspaper is already on top of the story.
